They are designed for forced ventilation and smoke removal in vehicular tunnels, underground parking lots and garages. The fans are mainly used without a duct system, but they can also be used in a system with an appropriate air resistance.

VSA and VSB FANS APPLICATION
Jet ventilation main purpose is to provide the necessary air quality in vehicular tunnel and remove combustion products in case of fire.

In case of jet ventilation the air moves along the tunnel without ducts, as the tunnel itself is a duct. The number and size of the fans depend on the tunnel aerodynamic resistance, the mutual arrangement of the fans, etc. There are two ventilation configurations using jet fans: unidirectional and combined.

The unidirectional configuration utilizes jet fans only. In this configuration, a flow of pollutants increases in proportion to the distance from the tunnel entrance, which limits the use of this ventilation configuration in long tunnels.

The combined configuration includes jet and blowing/suction fans that are connected to the atmosphere by means of vertical shafts. This configuration allows to ventilate tunnels of any length.

Design and features

The VSA jet fans are fans with the traditional straight horizontal housing.

The VSB jet fans have special design which increases their capacity by 20-50% compared to standard jet fan of the same diameter.



The VSB fans can significantly reduce the cost of equipping the tunnel ventilation systems.


These fans are successfully used to increase the capacity of existing tunnel ventilation systems, e.g. in case of higher traffic loads or tougher fire safety requirements.

Jet fans are used without ducts, so they do not have the typical aerodynamic characteristics, and their main characteristic is the thrust, i.e. power consumption. An important characteristic of jet fans is the specific thrust, i.e. the ratio of thrust to power consumption.
