The VOMD-24A axial-flow fan is designed to ventilate tunnels and underground stations. The fan is installed on-site in a tunnel chamber and can be used in single-fan / dual-fan installations.
The airflow is reversed by changing the rotation direction of the electric drive motor while simultaneously altering the setting angle of the guide vanes` and straightener blades.

Design and features
The VOMD-24A fan consists of a housing with guide vanes, a straightener and corresponding drives, a rotor, a manifold, a frame, an electric motor, a clutch, or a V-belt transmission.
The fan housing has a horizontal connector, and its both halves are connected by wedges. The rotor bearing supports are bolted to the housing.

The guide apparatus and the straightener have the same design and differ in the angles of the blades; they are bolted inside the housing.

Simultaneous rotation of the apparatus blades is performed by an actuator and a drive with a chain gear. Chain transmissions for simultaneous blade rotation are located inside the apparatus housings.

The blades of the apparatus are rotated by remote and local control of the drives by means of command apparatus.

Apparatus blades rotate in three positions: direct operation, reversing operation, and chimney valve when the fan stops.

The fan rotor consists of a shaft with two impellers mounted on it and rotating in two spherical roller bearings.

Impellers with spring rings are fitted with blades, which allows to smoothly change the performance of the fan.

The blades are set to the required angle from 10° to 45° through the hatches when the fan is stopped.
